Travis Mayer is an American freestyle skier, CrossFit athlete, fitness trainer, and media celebrity. He is popular as a silver medal winner skier at the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. He is also popular for winning the World Cup event, in 2005 at Lake Placid and 7 times CrossFit Games competitor.
Travis was born and brought up in Buffalo, New York, USA along with his parents and siblings. Travis began his journey as a snow skier while studying at Killington Mountain School in Vermont and at the same time he made his debut in the US Ski Team at the age of 16. In 2002, he joined the US Olympic team barely a few months prior to Salt Lake City Winter Olympic Games. However, he performed exceptionally well in the Olympics and won a silver medal.
Travis in 2005 won the Skiing World Cup event, in 2005 at Lake Placid because of his extraordinary performance. In the following year, he participated in the 2006 Winter Olympics and finished at 7th position.
