Being sporty from a young age, Sara was trained in multiple sports including swimming, basketball, volleyball, track and field, and weightlifting in high school. Initially, she was passionate about weightlifting and decided to make a career in the same field. In 2015, she competed in the World Weightlifting Championships in the 75 kg category.
At the same time, Sara began preparing for CrossFit Games after being suggested by one of her friends. She debuted in CrossFit Open in 2012 but failed to secure a rank. Her initial popularity came in 2015 after finishing 3rd worldwide and 2nd in Iceland.
She made her first participation in Regionals in 2013 and finished as 39th Europe and 169th worldwide. In the following year, she improved her rank in the Regionals and finished at 12th for Europe.
